Ayurvedic Massage with Marma Points therapy

Marma is a Sanskrit word wihich means “seat of Prana or Vayu”. These are vital energy points in the body. There are many marmas within the human body. During the massage 107 of these marmas are stimulated. Stimulating these vital energy points can enhance health.

An Ayurvedic massage with Marma point therapy uses a technique of acupressure applied on these points. This causes a flow of Prana (vital energy) through the minute channels in the body, restoring balance to the body’s systems.

Ayurvedic massage places great importance on the spine, the massage incorporates many specific strokes that will release stagnation of energy to help to align the vertebrae.

Kati Basti

This is a traditional Ayurvedic treatment for all back, neck, shoulder and knee issues. A unique treatment for all Musculo skeletal problems including slipped discs, frozen shoulder, neck pain, knee issues. The hot oil that is held in the ‘Basti’ penetrates deeply into the affected area down to the bone. This allows the muscles to let go and relax, allowing deep healing to take place. Janu Basti

Janu Basti is a treatment for the knee/s joint. One or both knees can be treated. Because our knee joint is a major weight bearing support for our body, the knees are subject to many disorders. This rejuvenating therapy has an extremely soothing and healing effect on the knee joint, the skin, muscles, joint and bone tissues are nourished and pain is diminished. It is a highly effective treatment for all knee disorders.

Nasya Karma

Nasya means nose and karma action. The administration of herbal preparations through the nose is known as Nasya Karma.

The nose is the gateway to the head, the medicine that is put into it moves up the channels to a vital spot at the base of the Brain (‘smgata ka’). This spreads to the whole (interior) of the head, the channels of the eyes, ears, throat and cures the diseases affecting the parts above the shoulders quickly.

Nasya treatment gives immediate relief to most disorders relating to these functions. Warm medicated oil is placed in the nostrils preceded and followed by hot compress and facial massage.

This treatment can be given all through the year and can also be given in a series of 5,7 or 9 days.
